International Travel

KCR’s mission is to simplify the complex and sometimes very confusing process of relocating your pet internationally. There is a range of quarantine, government, airline and air travel regulations and requirements which need to be met before your pet can travel overseas. We will help guide you through the process to ensure that your pet travel arrangements will be stress free.

As a rule of thumb you should allow between 2 and 6 weeks for international pet travel. Some countries require rabies vaccinations which typically require 30 days before the pet can fly after the vaccination. Other countries require Hendra tests which is also time consuming.

Ironically, New Zealand - one of our closest neighbours, has some of the strictest requirements for pet transport. Pets travelling to NZ will require multiple tereatments and blood-draw procedures which typically take between 2-4 weeks. Planning your pet's international travel is not unlike human international travel - it's not as easy as jumping on a domestic flight.
